We missed you at Non-Fest 2020 and Up in Smoke 2021! But we’re comin’ back in 2022! ARE YOU READY?

2019 was our best year yet! 4,000 people from the community came to cheer on 42 KCBS Competition Series Cookers, 8 regional High School Teams, and so much more! Look below to get your name on the list for 2022!

Family and friends, both old and new, can join in the celebration of BBQ at the 8th Annual Boro BBQ Festival on the historic grounds of Oaklands Mansion in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Smell that smoke, join in a rib eating contest and watch some of the top cookers in Middle Tennessee compete in the KCBS Competitive Series-sanctioned Dr. George Smith BBQ Brawl. This event annually attracts thousands of visitors to a day of family fun and adventure. Come on down, experience the aroma, and enjoy eating some of the finest BBQ east of the Mississippi River and west of the Great Smoky Mountains. We will roll out the red carpet and keep the lights on.

Yes! Our sponsors help keep this a free event for the public while serving the financial commitment of the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary.
Yes! – And No. Our cookers are dedicated Kansas City BBQ Association competitors and they, by rule, cannot share their competition ‘Que with the public. However, you can eat BBQ, Hot Dogs, Kettle Corn, and a plethora of other food for sale by our vendors. If you’re really coming for the Competition BBQ, you can participate in our People’s Choice competition. Many of our competitors elect to compete in this voluntary event where their aim is to please YOU. Check out the People’s Choice tent for more information. Participation costs $10 and the competitors will get a trophy, cash prize, and bragging rights. They take whatever they put on their smokers seriously.
Absolutely! This is a family event! Some activities are free while other will have a small charge.
For some people, you can’t have BBQ without a Beer! We’re still working on the details of our famous Beer Garden. Check back soon.
We’re still confirming with the bands. We’ll let you know as soon as we do!
Yeah. It broke our hearts. (Our stomachs are still rumbling) Obviously we can’t control the weather or the pandemic. We’re full force. And unless we’re mandated to cancel by local authorities, or we feel that staying open would be a risk to public health, we’re chiseling in stone May 7, 2022.
